The Development Charging Unit (DCU) is a compact rail-bound charging unit developed for use with BME’s INNOVEX UG emulsion formulations.
The DCU is primarily used for Underground development operations where a rail system is used to transport charging units to the development face. BME's patented MP2 Pump is used to pump BME's emulsion and gassing solution simultaneously, through the charging lance, into the development blast-hole.

Pump Safety
As a result of low energy consumption for the operation of BME’s patented MP2 Pumps, the DCU can be powered through a range of energy sources while maintaining a rate of delivery equal to that of mechanized emulsion technology.
This places the DCU in a class of its own as the DCU can function with the supply of either hydro-power or an independent hydraulic power pack, driven by an electric- or pneumatic motor.
To mitigate down-time and the possibility of lost production, BME's DCU has been developed to facilitate a dual pumping setup on a single charging unit, not only resulting in reduced standing-time to replace a pump, but in turn to increase production time.
The DCU is controlled with BME's ECU (Emulsion Charging Unit) control system, that enables full control over the pumping system, including but not limited to: pre-set pumping mass for blast-holes as well as datalogging of operational datasets for post-blast analyses.
