Product Description
Innopak Pre-Split is a packaged, detonator-sensitive, perchlorate-free, continuous pre-split emulsion that is crimped every 400 mm (16-inches) and can be cut to a desired length.
Application
Innopak Pre-Split is designed for perimeter control in both surface and underground applications. Its water-resistant characteristics make it suitable for use in small wet holes.
Technical Properties
Velocity of Detonation (VOD): 7000 m/s (23,000 ft/s) and is dependent on the VOD of the external detonating cord trace.
RWS and RBS calculated with ANFO density 0.80 g/cc and effective energy 2.260 kJ/kg.
Guidelines for Use
Innopak products should be kept at temperatures between –15 °C (5 °F) and 55 °C (131 °F) prior to initiation.
Shelf life: 12 months from date of manufacturing stored at temperatures conditions between –20 °C (–4 °F) and 40 °C (104 °F).

Priming and Initiation
Innopak Pre-Split is compatible with most non-electric and electronic detonator systems and are reliably initiated with detonators assembled with high strength detonators (No. 8 strength or greater base charge).
Innopak Pre-Split may also be reliably initiated by a 10 g/m (50 gr/ft) detonating cord.
Innopak Pre-Split is externally traced with 10 g/m (50 gr/ft) detonating cord to ensure complete explosive column detonation.
Do not attempt to initiate Innopak Pre-Split with No. 6 strength fuse caps.
Blasthole Charge Length, Hole Diameter and Density Relationships
Maximum hole depth depends on product selection, hole diameter, product densities, and the presence of water. Please contact a BME Technical Representative for additional guidance.
Ground Temperature
This product may be used in ground temperatures from to a maximum of 65°C (150°F) . If the application requires use outside this temperature range please contact a BME Technical Representative for additional guidance.
Reactive Ground
This product is not formulated for use in reactive ground. Reactive ground is typically characterised by the presence of sulphide mineralization. If the application requires use in known reactive ground, or in untested sulphide bearing ground, please contact a BME Technical Representative for additional guidance.
Handling and Storage
All explosives must be transported and stored in accordance with local, state and federal regulations.
Innopak products should be kept at temperatures between –15°C (5°F) and 55°C (131°F) prior to initiation.

Packaging
Innopak Pre-Split is offered in a wide variety of lengths and diameters and packaged in Valeron® film for enhanced durability during loading.

Product Risk Profile

Risk of explosion by shock, friction, fire, or other ignition sources. Classified as hazardous substance, dangerous goods with mass-explosion hazard. Stable under normal storage conditions.
Temperatures above 65°C (150°F) can be hazardous.
Never load a borehole containing hot or burning material.
Never attempt to fight explosives fires.
Never force explosive materials into a borehole.
